Blast & Breathe live demo at first innovation workshop

Monday, April 18, 2016

Thermac has held its first innovation workshop to showcase the company’s Blast & Breathe equipment. In attendance were many of the UK’s leading asbestos removal contractors.

It was a comprehensive event covering the equipment, techniques and case studies for Precision Dustless Blasting and Airline Breathing apparatus.

The 3-hour workshop involved a combination of seminars, practical demonstrations and Q&As covering:ypes of equipment and components available

- How the equipment works and how to use it properly

- Determining the best-fit equipment and combinations for your jobs

- Latest innovations in supporting equipment, including Thermac’s new Blast & Breathe Combined Trailer Unit

The programme also included a unique ‘live’ demonstration of precision dustless blasting on various test surfaces within a purpose-built demonstration unit.

The event then concluded with a very informative presentation by the HSE’s Dr Martin Gibson detailing the latest research and guidance for this removal technique. Dr Gibson then joined a panel from Thermac’s Blast & Breathe team for a Q&A session.

The event was free and took place earlier this week at The Park Royal Hotel in Warrington.

“The event was a great success and I’d like to take this opportunity to thank everyone who attended,” commented Alex Watts, Commercial Manager at Thermac. “We plan to have more workshops like this so that our customers can experience our equipment in action and gain a better understanding of what’s available and how to get the most out of their hire or purchase.”

We would like to thank all of our customers who attended the event and made it such a success - here are some comments we have received about the day:

“Thank you for your hospitality at your Blast and Breathe innovation day I found it to very informative. It was good to get the thoughts of the HSE on the subject and hear what Dr Gibson had to say about how justification is required when considering its use.”

“I found the day to be informative and in particular thought the quality and detail of the practical demonstrations was superb”

“Thank you for finding me a place on the demonstration. I found it very informative and thank you for making me feel very welcome.”

“The event was one of the most interesting and enjoyable demonstrations I have visited in quite a long time. It was just the right length of time – kept the interest going. It was well thought-out and organised.”
