Thermac donation to Fareshare charity

Thermac donate to help feed thousands

The Thermac team have worked hard to help assist a cause which has been very close to our hearts throughout the pandemic. Highlighted more so throughout the last year, we found the thought of people, especially children going without food to be quite unbelievable and decided that fundraising would go some way to help tackle the issue raised by footballer, Marcus Rashford.

We have been supporting the construction and demolition industries throughout the pandemic, have, with their client’s support raised a magnificent £4000 to donate to Fareshare.

Fareshare, are a charity who are dedicated to fighting hunger and tackling food waste.  Hundreds of thousands of tonnes of good food is wasted by the UK food industry every year. At the same time, millions (8.4 million – over 1.5 times the population of Yorkshire) of people are struggling to afford to eat (4.7 million of these people live in severely food insecure homes. This means that their food intake is greatly reduced, and children regularly experience physical sensations of hunger).  Fareshare address these two issues by redistributing food industry surplus, which would otherwise go to waste, to the people who need it most.

With our donation, this will equate to Fareshare being able to provide 16,000 meals to vulnerable individuals and families across the UK including charitable outlets throughout Yorkshire.

Seán Doyle, Managing Director said “When we heard about the amazing work that Fareshare have done, especially supporting families and children throughout the coronavirus pandemic, we wanted to do what we can to support their efforts. Collectively, Thermac, with support from a selection of our clients have managed to raise a significant amount of money which we know will help support the great service Fareshare provide.”
