The Sundstrom SR 100 mask is a half-face respirator mask. It has been produced using a soft and flexible silicone material to allow for comfort and practicality when worn. This mask features twin exhalation valves which helps to reduce breathing resistance and enhance the overall working comfort of the Sundstrom mask.
Each of the valves are covered with baffles to ensure that the exhalation membranes are protected from external dust and particles. The Sundstrom SR 100 features an easily adjustable elastic harness for the head which is designed in a v-shaped loop, ensuring a secure fit for optimum usage.
The reusable respirator is compatible with the Sundstrom range of highly efficient filters and is available in three adaptable sizes.
How regularly should I examine my RPE for wear and tear?
It is recommended that regular RPE users should examine and maintain their equipment at least monthly, and infrequent users should monitor their equipment at least every 3 months.
Do I need to shave to wear a half face mask?
Yes - to form a seal around the user's face, users should be clean shaven to wear a half face mask, although a small moustache or goatee beard may be suitable if this is enclosed within the seal of the half mask. If users are unwilling to shave, a hooded or helmet face mask should be considered.
What face-fit test do I need for a half face mask?
Quantitative and Qualitative face-fit mask tests are both suitable for testing the fit of half face masks. Quantitative fit testing (QNFT) provides a numerical measure of how well a facepiece seals against a wearer’s face; this is called a fit factor. These tests give an objective measure of face fit. Qualitative tests are more subjective, based on the wearer’s assessment of any leakage through the face seal region by detecting the introduction of bitter- or sweet-tasting aerosol as a test agent. Can I wear glasses while using a half face mask?
Yes - glasses or protective goggles can be used with half face masks, as long as they sit above the mask and do not interfere with the mask seal. If you wear glasses, you must be face-fit tested with these on to ensure that they are suitable and don’t interfere with the mask fit.
