Airlocks provide an environment for the decontamination of clothing, equipment and machinery. They are designed to fit between the environment that contains the hazardous substance and the open environment. Airlocks are made from either stainless steel or timber frames, with polythene and tape attached to the frame to form a air-tight space. Vison panels can also be fitted to airlocks for supervisors to have visibility on individuals, waste bags, tools and and equipment.
