Trelawny's Needle Scalers (needle guns) are a best-in-class solution for the targeted treatment of surfaces - available to hire & purchase from Thermac. 

They are ideal for dust-free safe removal of hazardous materials such as lead, asbestos and silica dust, thanks to the inbuilt vacuum system. Needle scalers also offer a moisture-free alternative to other surface preparation options, such as wet blasting. 

These needle guns have a low vibration level at 2.3 m/s².

Supplied with vacuum attachment and 28 needles as standard.

Are the needles replaceable on the Needle Scaler?

Yes, Thermac supply replacement needles for the Needle Scaler - sold in packs of 28. 28 needles fit into the needle scaler at any time. 

How long should I use the needles on the Needle Scaler before replacing?

The needles on the needle scaler should last around 80 hours before they need to be replaced. Note that this time may vary depending on the surface treated. 

Can I attach the vacuum attachment and dust shroud myself?

Yes - the vacuum attachment and dust shroud (cuffs) are designed to be interchanged while on-site. More information on how to change these components can be found in the Operation & Maintenance Manual. 

How often should I top up the oil reservoir?

For standard weekly use, we recommend that you top up the oil reservoir on the needle scalers weekly. Please note that this may change depending on the surface treated and the timescales of the equipment used. 

What is the correct air pressure required to run this Needle Scaler?

The correct air pressure for this machine is to 6.2bar (90psi). Do not let the operating pressure fall below 5.5bar (80p.s.i.) or rise above 6.9bar (100 psi) absolute maximum.
